What to Visit
In Osuna, the town's rich historical and architectural heritage is perfectly complemented by the charm of its promenades and open-air gathering places. La Carrera is considered the heart of Osuna's life, the town's main commercial street.
Contact with nature and tranquility are guaranteed in the Paseo de San Arcadio, a renovated park that provides Osuna with an ideal setting for leisure. It is located opposite the Plaza de Toros (bullring), witness to the exploits of great bullfighters, and the Arco de la Pastora (Shepherdess's Arch), which corresponds to the old Puerta de Écija (Écija Gate), built at the end of the 18th century during the reign of Charles IV. Furthermore, Osuna's beautiful streets have served as the backdrop for important films such as Franco Zeffirelli's Callas Forever and Vicente Aranda's Carmen.
After a pleasant stroll, visitors can enjoy traditional dishes, elaborate recipes, or innovative creations in any of the town's bars or restaurants. These establishments are concentrated in squares, plazas, and promenades that serve as meeting places for young and old alike. Such is the case of the Plaza Mayor, in front of the Town Hall, the Plaza de la Duquesa, in front of the Archaeological Museum, the Plazuela Salitre, the Plaza de la Merced, and the Plazuela Cervantes, dominated by the Arco de la Pastora.
